K8055 with IR? - control receiver with K8055 board?

hi.

is it possible to connect an IR diode to the K8055 board.
I would like to use my computer to send out IR signals to control my receiver/amplifier.

first of all I need to know what signal the remote control of my receiver sends out, therefore I have a IR “receiving diode” (white transparent diode). I would like to connect it to an input on the board, but is the board fast enough to “record” the signal received??

secondly I want the board to send out IR signals through an IR diode (dark blue / black diode). on what output can I connect it, or again is the board fast enough to send out the High frequent signals?

If it’s not possible to do with this board, is there maybe a add-on for this board or maybe another product I can connect to my PC (only USB available) or is it easy to solder myself.

I have used the K8055 now for updating my home made computer controlled relais.

thanks all!!!

The board is way too slow to to transmit/receive IR signals. Most IR systems work on either 36 or 38kHz. Even if you would generate the carrier frequency with an external circuit, the board would not be able to reproduce the code. Max samplerate for this board is about 50 samples/s. This is more than enough for common switching tasks.
