K8055 USB Connection problem

Hi,
I put together 2 K8055 boards and tested them with the demo software (just 1 board connected at the same time) : The 1st one is working perfectly, the 2nd one cannot connect (“card 1 not found”). I swapped the PIC between the 2 board, then the 2nd one is working. I did several tests: both boards work perfectly with the 1st PIC but not with the 2nd one.
This makes me beleive the problem is coming from the PIC itself, however the LED8 is flashing 2 or 3 times at startup then turns off…

Any help will be appriciated.

Regards,
JM

Most probably the second PIC is defective.
Please contact your dealer to replace it.

I have same problem, k8055 1st time ok but after some tests crashes. I disconnected after 10 minutes and works again. I bought it in america but live in Spain, some quick-fix solution?

Does this crash happen every time you use the card?
What kind of tests cause the crash?

Yes it happens always and I could only try to activate the digital outputs. I’ve tried different computers with the same result.

When locked, the back to plug the usb, the light output 8 flashes 2 times. The third time is left on and the system says that no device is recognized.

This indicates problem in USB connection.
Please check soldering of the USB connector.
Also check the value and soldering of C6, C4 and C5.

I check but same problem. How to test capacitors?, posible defect?

Normally it is just enough to check the soldering, the capacitor values and there is no visible damage.

As a final test you may use other USB cable.
Also check IC3 is properly fitted to the socket.

If no help, you may have to return the kit to Velleman for check / repair.

Sorry, my problem is with x-simulator.de software. With velleman cd software sample runs perfect.
