This may be Windows operating system based problem.
I made a test: I connected two K8055 cards to the PC and restarted it.
In a desktop PC running Windows 2000 and Windows XP both cards were operating after the PC restart.
In a laptop running Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit the both cards were operating when Windows 7 was restarted. With Windows Vista both cards had to be disconnected and reconnected to the USB slot before they were operating.
I’ve tried it too on my HP laptop windows 7 32 bit with 2 cards connected. (0 and 2)
When I reboot (I’v tried this about 5 times) both card always work as they should. When the computer reboots on both cards led 8 does not flash at all.
But when I shut off…
As soon as I turn the computer on both led’s 8 light up, but then things go different.
Sometimes before windows is started both cards are recognised (led 8 flashed 3 times) and are correctly recognised and work well.
One time the boot screen stayed black with 2 vertical white lines on the middle and left side. The windows login screen appeared and everything worked well. Both cards were correctly recognised.
One time one card (0) was directly recognised, but on card (2) led 8 stayed on and was reset during the starting up of windows. Both cards worked then as they should.
One thing you could try is using a seperate USB hub. On another labtop I’ve had many problems with the recongnition of the K8055 directly connected on the laptop. However with a hub (I used a medion) there were no problems.
I hope this can help to solve your problem.

The only thing I can think of this moment is that you can enable booting from USB in the BIOS. At this moment I can’t test it cause my laptop doesn’t support it.
Don’t know if this can disturb the recognition of one card if it is set to USB.
Have a look in your BIOS.
Coming weeks I’ll try it on several computers at my school. If I find something I will let you know.
