Hello all,
I recently attached my velleman k8055. I have different relays to command trough the digital outputs.
Now the problem is I have a 24V powre supply to command all relais. If I connect this 24 V to the velleman my power source is going in protected mode.
Is there a max voltage to use on GND and CLAMP?If so, can the k8055 support 24V DC?
Thak you for your fast reply,
I’ve done some tests and I removed all outputs from the velleman, altough when I connect the CLAMP the Dc adapter goes in protected mode. is it possible that the IC4 is broken?
hello,
finally I changed the IC4, now I can connect my 24V input on gnd CLAMP
the problem now is that when the 24V power is turned on no outputs works unless I remove the power.
Is there any modification to take to make the k8055 run with 24V ?
The digital open collector outputs are specified to max 50V/100mA.
Should work with 24V without any modifications.
Does the card stop to work if you have only the 24V voltage connected between the GND and the CLAMP, and all the other outputs are disconnected?
How did you notice the outputs are not working if the 24V is connected:
Is there no output indicator LED status change when the 24V is connected between the GND and the CLAMP?
Have you checked the power supply polarity: + to CLAMP, - to GND.
Exaclty, if I connect the 24V between GND and CLAMP the card stops working, no output leds are on.
The polarity is correct on the power supply and is attached with - on GND and + on CLAMP.
I’ll try this evening to test without any output connected.
beside I will measure the current used to be shure that it does not use more than 100mA (calculated it should use around 40mA max)
Thanks

If yes, then there may be somewhere a solder bridge on the board and the CLAMP voltage goes to unwanted place. Maybe to one of the PIC micro (IC3) outputs or other terminals.
when you look at the schema, on the bottom there are a 220V heater and a 24 V Electrovalve.
now all works correctly if the electrovalve is detached.
If attached I can start the electrovalve and all sounds good. The problem comes when the Relais opens the contact to stop the electovalve then my IC burns.
When I attach directly the elecrovalve on the power supply I can start and stop without problems.
The problem comes when the Relais opens the contact to stop the electovalve then my IC burns.
Is it possible that the 24V power supply generates overvoltge spike when the voltage from the solenoid valve is disconnected?
If yes, then the solution can be to use a separate 24V power supply for the solenoid valve.
