K8055 IR EMitter

Hi,

I am trying to connect a 1.5v(50ma) IR emitter mantech.co.za/ProductInfo.aspx?Item=14M6286
and would like to know if I could connect this directly to the output of the k8055 board. Will the board be able to power 3 of this IR emitters.

If not how would i connect 3 IR emitters to the output of the k8055.

Thanks
Will the board be able to power 3 of this IR emitters.
Yes, it is. Here is an example how the LEDs or IR emitters can be connected to the outputs of the K8055:

You have to select the series resistors to get 50mA current through the IR emitters.
The connection to the CLAMP terminal is not necessary in this case.
CLAMP connection is needed if you have inductive load.

Hi,

So when you say that the clamp is not necessary, is it fine if i simply connect the anode(+) to a digital output and (-) to ground for each emitter and turning each digital output ON shouldbe enough to activate the emitter?

Thanks

The digital outputs are open collector “passive” outputs.
They do no output any voltage, just act as switches to GND:

You have to use external power supply and series resistors for the IR emitters.
Here is how you can connect them without the CLAMP connection:
