K8055 firing a solenoid

I would like to activate a solenoid (30ohm, 6vdc, 1.2W) from the analog output.

I have very little knowledge of electronics, being rather on the processing side. I tried to activate the solenoid directly from the output port, but there is probably not enough power. In fact, it does not light a flashlight lightbulb either. I did check that 5V were present on the output port.

I guess that a relay is needed which the analog output can activate. Can anyone specify what type of relay would work there?

Thanks.

Well, the relay would need to be able to be activated by the board. Any miniature relay should do, say from Maplins etc…

The ‘1A DPDT 5Vdc N05AW £1.91’ sounds the best.
