Just purchased a ready built K8055, it works fine with the supplied demo programs and with my first simple program to drive the on-board LEDs. However, the box had no instructions on how to connect the K8055 to external devices. My first goals are to read voltages (in the range 0v to 2v) and to control a relay. No need for 8-bit precision on the voltage, using 0v to 5v range will be fine for my needs.
Is there anywhere that I can find (or download) some basic connection and usage diagrams for the K8055?
Here is the link to download the K8055 manual: velleman.eu/downloads/0/illu … k_rev3.pdf
On p.19 there is some info how to connect the inputs/outputs to external electronics.
To use the analog inputs you have to remove the jumper caps from the pin headers SK2 and SK3.
Turn the trimmer potentiometers RV1 and RV2 to max. position clockwise. These trimmers are effective for the analog input.
The DLL and programming manual you can download from this page: velleman.eu/distributor/supp … 8055&type=
On this page there is also the latest software package with examples written in many programming languages.
The package is “Complete SDK Pack (Rev 4.0)”.
Thank you, VEL255, for the quick response. The manual that came on the K8055 CD does not contain the page-19 you referenced. That page plus your additional comments are very helpful.
The Manuals part of the downloads page for the K8055 ( see velleman.eu/distributor/supp … code=K8055 ) is not entirely clear. The item titled “Parts list” is the manual you referenced but the description of that manual is all about assembly, not about using the board. The item titled “DLL usermanual” is described as a “Manual explaining the kit’s possibilities and how to use the kit” but it only describes the DLL, it does not describe how to connect the board to any external circuits or devices.
You’ll find the Usermanual for the VM110 on this site: velleman.eu/distributor/supp … code=VM110
On p.8 there is a diagram how to connect the inputs/outputs to external electronics.
