K8055 connecting Pot to Analog input

Hello …

I’m trying to connect external pot with external 5V source in parallel to A1 and ground of K8055 but I’m not getting any readings in Matlab. Noting that SK jumpers were removed.
However, when the jumpers are mounted I can get reading in Matlab!

So, I want to know whether my connections are right or not? and if not what should I do?

Please make sure the input trimmer potentiometers RV1 and RV2 are adjusted to the max. position when the SK jumpers are removed.
