K8055 connected to my 12V car battery

Hi,

I have connected my k8055 on my router running linux and will eventually have this in my car.

  1. I would like to use the k8055 to control 12V driven stuff in my car using the digital outputs and a relay. Can you help me finding a suitable relay? Preferably by giving me a link e.g. to a product at elfa.se (its in swedish) or similar. Its to complicated for me and to much many choises.

  2. Can I connect the car battery direct to the analogue input or will it be too strong? How can I measure the status of the battery?

About the relay: Suitable coil voltage is 12V in this case. The coil current must be less than 100mA (coil resistance over 120 ohms).
See the connection diagram on page 22 of the manual.
It is important that the battery +pole is connected to the CLAMP terminal of the K8055 and the relay is connected between the CLAMP terminal and digital output.

It is OK to connect 12V to the analog input. Using the trimmer ATT1(or ATT2) RV1 (RV2) you may adjust the proper output reading.
Remove the jumpers SK2 and SK3 before connecting the 12V to the analog input.

BE CAREFUL: If you make mistake connecting the 12V battery to the K8055 you may destroy both the card and your computer.
