K8055 - booklet needs to be corrected

hi

i soldered up my k8055 board last night, followed everything to the letter etc.

one problem today after connecting to computer and a powersource
(bought the dedicated USB cable for the board to computer)
(bought a regulated powersupply 5VDC 1A)

i’ve installed the programme from the disc and everything seems to work fine
for example i clicked “connect” and a motor connected to output 1 for example started to run. the board has been connected to a powersupply positive to “clamp” , negative to “ground”. i checked the stripped wires of the powersupply with a multimeter to make sure my polarities were correct and then connected them to the screw down terminals.

theres just one problem… the leds don’t work!!

EDITED MID POST…

the soldering instructions are telling people to solder in the leds the wrong way round!!

the booklet given with the PCB and components shows the short leg as the leg closest to the number of the led.

if any of the vellemen people are reading you might have to make it a bit clearer about which way the thing gets soldered in!! to make the led work the shortest leg should be soldered closest to the terminal block, the longest leg furthest from it. that is the longest leg of the LED should be soldered in closest to LD1 for example (not the shortest as shown in the diagram - i had my suspicions when i was soldering them in)

well

i guess i’ll have some more questions once i’ve resoldered my leds round the other way to make them work!!

see ya

lol sounds about right, good thing you knew the right thing.
