K8055 and digital sensor interfacing

Hi,

I recently bought a flowmeter FS-4400H (digisavant.com/sensors-1-2.html) and want to connect it to a digital input of my K8055.

Sensor’s output is given as “open collector” from manufacturer.

Could someone help me : can I simply connect the sensor “as this” to the K8055 or do I need some electronics components to interface? I read somewhere something about a pull-down or pull-up resistor but have too few electronics knowledges to understand…

The open collector output of the sensor can be connected directly to the digital input of the K8055.
There is internal pull-up resistor on the K8055 board.

Another question : could I power supply my sensor vith 12V or do I have to use 5V (same voltage as K8055)?

You can use a 12V supply for the sensor power…
