For my Home Control system, I have a very old system running under Windows XP with 3 K8055 USB Boards. Now I want to migrate this to newer Hardware based on a Mainboard Asrock Fatal1ty H87.
All software and the connection to the I/O boards worked fine, when I connect the K8055’s to the mainboard when windows is running. However, restarting Windows or even Power off and on results in an hang in the bios and windows doesn´t start. If I remove the usb cables, then windows starts and if I connect the cables then, all work fine.
I have one board K8055-1 and two boards K8055-2.
The K8055-1 board works as expected, it can be connected during restart.
Both K8055-2 prevent the BIOS from booting Windows, regardless in which USB port they are connected.
What can be done to repair this problem ?
Just a thought.
Check your BOIS to see it “Boot from USB” is enabled.
Wrong Way,
problem is solved… but a little other.
I have checked the bios for the option, but there was none.
Then I upgraded the biso to level 2.60 from february 2016, also no option.
Finally I found the option “Legacy USB support”, which was enabled.
I disabled this option, and now Boot continues to Windows 10 also, if the K8055N-2 is plugged in.
Thanks a lot for your hint !
