K8055 12V on outputs

Hey! I’v read and searched the whole forum here, and I have come to the conclusion that the open collectors can have “output” voltage if I connect an 1k or more resistor from the CLAMP that gets 12V to the output channels. My question is simply if I got this right, so i don’t fry anything.

Cheers

You don’t fry anything if you connect external +12V to the CLAMP terminal and external voltage minus (-) to the GND terminal of the K8055 board.
Put a pull-up resistor between the CLAMP and the digital output.
Resistor value is not critical, may be 1k or higher.
After doing this, you’ll get about 11V swing from the digital output of the K8055 card.

Be careful not to connect the external power with wrong polarity.
Using wrong polarity will fry the output transistor array of the board.

This circuit diagram shows how to connect a relay, LED or DC motor to the digital outputs of the K8055.

so does that mean that i can connect a + 10v dc supply to the clamp of the analog output and i would get a 10v swing ( by this do you mean 0 to 10 v ??) from each of the 2 outputs

Yes, you can get up to 50V swing by using external supply and the pull-up resistors.
If you have inductive load then you have to connect the external power supply (+) plus pole to the CLAMP terminal too.

thank you,

speedy reply ha ha good work
