Hello. I have a pre built pic programmer k8048’1 bought pre built. It came with no software so I downloaded picprog2009, when I first turned the board on it did the flashing led thing and as I pressed the tact buttons the other leds light up accordingly so I assume the pic was pre programmed at the factory for board testing. I have the pic board hooked up through the serial port to a asus A88XM Plus motherboard. Whatever I try to do, it says 'There is no velleman programmer connected to the pc. The ports are enabled. Please help

In PICPROG2009 click on the function button then go to “Hardware Configuration”
Check to make sure you have the K8048 / VM111 selected.
Check to make sure you are using the correct com port.
USB and PCMCIA to serial adapters will not work with this unit.
The power supply needs to be an unregulated 12 volt DC or a regulated 15 volt DC adapter.
The serial cable should be a straight through not a null modem.
