K8048 connection problems

If you are using a 12V DC adapter (unregulated) there must be enough voltage. (15…16V). But a regulated power supply must be 15V.

If you don’t make progress on your own, and Velleman don’t come up with any suggestions, I could try to replicate the situation. If you want, have a look at my website to find an email address and send me the HEX files you are trying to burn. Are you using the ‘orginal’ ProgPic2, or the newer PicProg2006?[/quote]

Yippee!! (or should that be a slap to the back of head??)

MY programmer is now working. For my sins, I confess. I rechecked the schematics and component layout and discovered I had the 557 transistor T3 in T4’s position. I desoldered, and replaced. I Connected all up again and successfully programs the 627 chip several times with demo1 and Demo2 alternating and didn’t have any failures. Even PICProg2006 works :o

Thanks to all who helped. Moral of story, check, check and recheck - especially the transistors even if the board is being recognised okay by the software.
