K8045 LCD display

Dear Velleman support,

I just assembled your K8045 with the LCD display what is inside the box.
Afterwards I change the LCD display for the option display LCD1601ASL.
But I don’t see any difference between the two LCD displays.
Is it necessary to do more things such as connect the two pins A1 and K1?
Now on the board these point are open and they are not mentioned in the manual.

The optional display (Taiwan) features a slightly better visibility and reliability than the original one (China). No need to change anything on the board.
