K8038: I use this dimmer with a 640W lamps charge (16x 40W). Yesterday, when I pushed on the push button, two lamps blowed up and the output is at 100% open (no dimming possibility and impossible to switch off).
The triac installed is a TIC226M (600V/8A). An explanation ? Many thanks for your help !
Almost certain that your triac died. Incandescant lamps that blow, often cause a kind of short circuit, which the triac does not survive.
Attention: some of the dimmers by Velleman require a genuine BOURNS-triac to work properly.

If it works fine, there is no need to use a ‘Bourns’-type.
