Hello, I have an issue with the video cleaner module:

1.When power is switched ON :
Red led is continuously ON, Yellow led does 1 flash.

2.When there is no video signal on input :
Yellow led is OFF

  1. When there is a standard video signal on input :
    Yellow led is continuously ON
    Video OUT signal is OK to TV
    Video OUT signal is only black and white to VCR or PC video acquisition card (Haupauge).

  2. When there is a protected video signal on input :
    Yellow led is continuously ON
    Video OUT signal is OK to TV
    Video OUT signal is only black and white to VCR or PC video acquisition card (Haupauge).

So, there is no difference between standard and protected video signals.

The input signal is 1 V (peak to peak), the output signal is only 0.5 V.

There is no tuning component/device on PCB… Do you have any suggestion to correct the bug or what component to test/replace?

Video output level seems a bit on the low side…
Also strange that it does not detect protected video. Are you sure protection is standard macrovision ?
If you drop by, hand in your unit and we’ll take a look at it.

Well… all I can say is that color burst is big like in macrovision, but I’m not sure there is no other encryption/protection added.
I’m going to look for other protected materials to check if something change.
I’ll update then.
