K8035

Hi there, thanks for the GREAT products! Before I buy a K8035, I want to make sure it will work for me.

  1. For the timing function, instead of 23h59m or 59m59s, I would like it to display just a “number or seconds” or minutes. That seems possible using the dip switches to “Decade Counter=On” and “Internal Oscillator = On”. Am I right?

  2. I have a machine that runs at 5 feet per minute. I would like to use the K8035 as and external counter to count feet - thus, I need it to count at 1/5th normal time (or, if the decade counter outputs seconds, I need it to be 5/60 or 1/12 normal time). Would I change the crystal to 1/5th or 1/12th the frequency or the capacitors (C1/C2) around the crystal?

  3. I would LOVE to output decimal minutes (1.0 on display = 12 seconds and 1.5 on display = 18 seconds in real time). Is that possible?

  4. For the “Run” switch, it appears to be a momentary switch, correct? I was thinking of replacing that switch with the output of a standard relay triggered off my machine’s 120V “run switch” - will that work to constantly close that switch during the “run”? Is there such a thing as a momentary relay? I was hoping that when my relay close, the timer runs. When my relay opens, the timer stops. Possible?

  5. Finally, maybe this is a dumb question - what is the input voltage (+VA) on the power supply (pin 2 )?

Thanks in advance - I’ve been searching for this solution for years. Will make our lives much easier!

Sorry, what you want to do is not possible

what is the input voltage (+VA) on the power supply (pin 2 )?

VA and VB are both necessary when you are use a transformer (AC voltage) when you are using a dc power supply only GND and VA or VB are used.

I’m really disappointed - you couldn’t answer a single question. I still don’t know the voltage - 12V or 5V or what? That seems like a very strange reply - I asked 5 questions and get zero answers…

OK:

  1. When decade counter is selected, the internal oscillator cannot be used, so sorry, this does not work.

  2. When you change the crystal, you also change the multiplex rate of the display and the sampling of the inputs, so sorry, this cannot be done.

  3. Sorry, we cannot change the firmware on demand.

  4. Sorry, it has to be a pulse.

  5. VA: +9…+12VDC (see kit specs).
