K8020

Dear support people of Velleman
I refer to my questionof a week ago, on which I did not receive an answer. For a client seeking advice on actually buying two new products, I suppose you overlooked my question. I post it here again.

Hi,
I have today a K8020 valve preamp and a K4040 valve power amp. As valve power amps tend to be weak in the bass region, I would consider to use the 4040 on the high/mid of my biamp speakers (tanoy 613i sixes) and acquiring a K8040 set of two for the bass, using the bypass function of the 8040.

  1. Has anyone had any experience in doing so?
  2. As the input impedance and sensitivity of the 8040 and 4040 seem different, would this cause a problem (ex different volume levels on my bass and high/mid)
  3. If so, is there any workaround?

thanks for your reply

We do not have experience with this issue.
Sensitivity difference should not be a problem.
If necessary, adjust K8040 sensitivity.
