K8018 Data Sheet

i can’t find the specific Datasheets for the LED, needed to test their functionality. Nor for the 125 LEDs of the Cube or the Control-LED.

Do you have the blue or white version?

I’ve the white Version. My actual Mind is that they should have about 3 V but about the current ?? And the red LED from the PCB should have about 1.7 V. But this is only a guess.

Yes different colors need different voltages.

The current is about 10mA for the LEDs.
This can be found in the datasheet of the LED driver IC.
See here => page 13
In the schematic of the K8018 a 2200ohm resistor is connected at pin R-EXT.
And according the datasheet an R-EXT value of 2056ohm = 10mA.
So this means a little bit less of 10mA will flow trough a led.

Internally in the IC there are current source.
this mean that the current will be fixed(10mA).
But the voltage will vary per LED.

For the red led a voltage of 1.7-1.8V is normal.

Outcome
Thank you,
white LED’s 3V / ca. 10 mA; red LED 1.7-1.8V / ca. 10 mA
and the other Parts I’ve just identified with the help of a magnifier and the value in the brackets of the assembly manual (2/9/14)
So problem solved, and I learned somewhat more.
The Data-Sheet from the IC is very interesting. May I ask, why you suggest the 3rd Value in Table 11? (2056)
Best regards

In the schematic of the K8018 a 2200ohm resistor is mounted at the pin R-EXT.
The closest value in the table is 2056.
R-EXT determines how much current will flow trough a LED
