I have recently completed my K8015 kit.
Installed a jumper into the “Push Button”, set the kit to “Turn on Delay”, and set my time delay.
I then wired it up as per the bench test and all works well.
I then thought I would wire it up to power what is supposed to power, and this is where I have run into trouble
I have a relay with 4 connections
30 = Battery +
85 = Ignition Switched +
86 = Earth -
87 = Load +
I am operating the 12v input of the K8015 with the Ignition switched + wire that went to termainal 85 of the realy, and a good ground (-)
For the output side of the K8015 I have a good ground (-) into COM and run a wire from the NO (+) side of the output to terminal 85 of the relay
Turned on the ignition and waited for the countdown to complete. The LED come on but my load does not start.
What have I done wrong?? Can anyone shed any light on this??
“good ground (-) into COM and run a wire from the NO (+)”
If ground is connected to COM than NO is the ground from the load.
Sorry, we do not know the connection numbers from a car, you can also send a picture…
I have enclosed a wiring diagram of firstly who my set up was configured (as soon as the ignition switsh was turned on the relay was activated starting the fan)
When 12+ is applied to pin 85 with pin 86 connected to ground, the relay is activated. This in turn connects the permanent 12v supply from pin 30 to the load on pin 87
I hope this makes sense?
The load required to switch the relay is 160mA (measured with my test meter) and the current being drawn by the fan (load) is about 10A - so I cant switch the load with the K8015.
Thanks VEL417, but I am unsure what you mean? Where is the 2nd earth coming from? Which terminal?
Is it possible for you to show my wiring diagram how it should be?
