K8004 PWM Configuration Question

I am using this PWM to control a simple 12VDC motor output (fuel pump on a vehicle). Can I simply connect the DCIN to the VREF or do I need to connect 12VDC to the DCIN? What is exactly the internal reference voltage of the K8004?
