K8000, K8055 & K8061 Digital Input questions

In order to ensure the maximum DI acquisition speed, what card is it preferible to use among K8000, K8055 & K8061 ?

Can somebody give me a complete overview on that item ?

The K8061 is the highest speed:

  • General response time: 4ms per command
    The K8055 is the lowest speed:
  • General conversion time: 20ms per command
    The K8000 is in between those values:
  • About 10ms (under Windows NT, 2000, XP…)

Regarding the 8055 response time, is this so slow because of the driver?
If the driver is on a polling cycle then I could increase the amount of cycles and by doing so improve the response time.

Or am I dumb and is it a hardware issue with some slow chip or something?

The K8055 uses low speed USB interrupt protocol.
Regardless of the name “interrupt” it uses polling system. The polling interval is 10ms. This is based on the USB standard and hard-coded to the firmware.
