K8000 / 8055 / 8061

hello,

i have a question; i used the search function but could not find what i looked for.

I have 2 K8000 cards and a 8055, and i’m thinking about the 8061 now. I need lots of inputs and outputs for a new (hobby) project in my boat. I need about 35 DI’s, 25DO’s and 20 Analogs.

they all use I2C bus, can i use the cards together? like connecting a 8000 to 8055 and a 8061? and if so is it possible to run a 8000 on 12Volt instead of 220v?

I did some things with the cards seperately, but im not a electronic guy so thats why i’m asking. I saw i can connect 8 cards of a 8061 together, but onluy 4 of the others. But i’m not fond of buying new 8061 cards to replace the ‘older’ ones.

can someone help me and give direction?

thanx in advance,
Bert

In theory, you can use the K8000 on the same PC as a number of K8055/K8061 cards. However, this has not been tested.
The K8000 would need some modification to make it run on 12VDC. Sorry, we do not support modifications. Basically, you will have to remove the transformers and feed 12VDC directly. Please don’t ask how to do this. If you are not feeling confident that you will be able to solve the problems that you might encounter along the way, we’d recommend not to start such a project, unless you can count on local help.
20 analog inputs seems unrealistic. Probably, you will monitor slow changing signals, so you could multiplex a number of signals into one port. Once again, this is a hint, so there are no ‘how-to’-instructions.

ok thanks for the info,

i will test it myself then to use the 8000 and 8055 together.
i know you dont support mods, of course, but i will get local help. Removing the transformers dont seem to difficult.

for analogs your right; its mostly slow changing.

Bert
