K7102

Good afternoon.

I recently purchased the kit 7102, I assembled the circuit but when testing to verify its operation I encountered the following problem, the LED stays on throughout the course of the potentiometer RV1, I’ve also changed the trainer 3n3 (332) by Trainer 1N2 (122) but the problem persists. I imagine that the problem is in the number of coil turns and will have to reduce some of this, my question is to coil turns should be eliminated? What would be the separation between the two coils? In their specifications the number of turns to the small coil is 43T but the printed circuit board puts 40T, please show me where it may be the fault if, as the number of turns you have to have the small coil.

Thanks in advance.

The coil turn are the most important thing in this kit, 1 turn wrong and it would work.
So, please check again the coil and all other solderjoints and componnts.

Coil will review again and finds that everything is correct, however I would like to send a photo of the reel as well and would simplify cooperation could see the problem more easily, is this possible?

Yes, just posting a link to the picture.

But the link on the menu is for pictures on the internet address it? I want to get an image that is on my computer, the image of the 7102 kit assembled with coil detail so we can see the problem more clearly.

You can post your picture at ex. PICASA,…

Details k7102 kit assembly, the link shows both photography kit

Here I leave the links mounting kit 7102 with details of the coil, if they would be kind enough to see them and tell me if the coil assembly is properly appreciate it.

Greetings

I’m impressed by the pitiful service offered to consumers through the forum, never imagine that a company in this category had a very poor technical service such as that being offered.

I am very disappointed with the responses by their technicians, in addition to the poor structuring of the page to which you can not upload a photo if not previously published in a portal.

It is pathetic to have to wait more than two weeks, post a question twice, having to upload photos to another site to hit the links for the service technician has it as easy as possible and not bother to respond, I imagine it will not have the foggiest idea what is wrong and that his own pride are unable to answer and a deaf ear, will be the last time I buy a product Velleman addition to the bad reputation that I will give between the relevant agreement.

I’m sure you’ll understand that we do not have the means to answer immediately to your posts.
The main purpose of the forum is for users to help eachother. Posting a picture of the solderside can help too.
Sometimes, we cannot troubleshoot a unit from a distance.
We do offer inspection and repair of all our Velleman Projects items and if the problem is not caused by user error, we will fix it for free (shipping not included).
If you really cannot get it to work, you can mail your kit to:

Hi,

I’ll try to help.
First I would like to say you did a really great job on winding the coils.
Looks like the were done by a machine.

However is it possible that they maybe backwards.
Shouldn’t the wire of the larger coil going into terminal “A” come over the top and the wire going into terminal “B” come from the bottom?
Then on the smaller one the wire going into terminal “C” come from the top and the one going into terminal “D” come from the bottom?

This is a pure guess on my part and I don’t know how importaint these positions are but that’s the only differents I can see from your picture compared to the assembly manual.

Maybe VEL417 could clairify.

Good afternoon, following its instructions perform a new reactor here I leave the links, for further clarification.

The new operation of this is: metal detecting only 2 cm of the coil by setting the potentiometer to the maximum possible detention. To hold the coil turns using duct tape, as in the ferrite does not fit 120 laps, divided into 3 parts ie 120 / 3 = 40 then 40 laps left to right, 40 from right to left, and ultimately, left to right, leaving a space for coil 40T. My question is: Does the tape has an influence on? Detected because only 2 cm of the coil?
