OK, here is my problem.

  1. Manually functions correctly.
  2. Red LED flashes and relay closure heard after 3 or 8 rings as expected, but the phone keeps on ringing. The Red light then goes out (After 20 sec. time-out period).

Why does this unit not pick up the call and start it’s status routine? I am suspecting the isolation transformer is not getting engaged with the relay flosure.

Thanks for the advise…I am stuck.

apparantly, your phone company needs to see more than 20mA of loop current before it decides that the line is picked up (unlikely) or there is an assembly mistake (likely), e.g. T7 is mounted the wrong way round. In the first case, you will need to increase the current via the current source e.g. slightly decrease value of R31. Sorry, no values, you will have to experiment.

My stupid. As you said, 90% are assembly errors. T7 was in backwards…Thanks…and are the relays and terminals 2 & 3 available from Velleman Projects? :?:

hello i have had the same problem and have tryed all of the above (no mistakes and enough current) and cant find a solution, it still wont pick up the line and start the condition check when dialed i have no idea whats wrong any ideas :question: :question: :question:
