This kit is the k6002, a temperature controller that came with the k6001 temperature sensor kit. I assembled both and completed all steps including the calibration and it was fine. but when i went to hook up my relays to the controller’s relay contacts the relays won’t work (even make a noise) when the high/low alarm/hyst comes in. This is great as a thermometer but I am having a hard time using the controller part of this kit. And yes of course the CORRECT power supplies were used and C7 was never installed. (I suspect if C7 were installed it would clear the memory on the PIC micro.
to test if it is a problem with the relay or not, you could connect a multimeter to the input pins of the relay, and see if that senses any voltage when the relay should be activated. Or you could connect something else like an LED and see if it lights up when the relay should activate. If so, then there is voltage, and the relay isn’t working, otherwise, there may be a problem elsewhere in the circuit.
me and my friend spent 5 hours to trobule shoot this problem. it turned out that the relay’s pickup voltage was to low. i don’t know if this was due to the circuit being of european design. But we replaced the relays with relays of a lesser (6v) pickup voltage. It works fine.
