I have a K4005B amplifier hooked up to a 28 VDC power supply capable of 6 amps RMS and a mono 8 ohm load. Input is being fed from a Harman Kardon preamplifier with measured good output voltage. The only thing that the amp does is one LED barely blinks and the speaker jumps just as the amps power supply is hooked up. Other than that there is no LEDs, no output, or anything. Any ideas?
Leds should never blink with this kit. Most likely an assembly problem, however, hard to troubleshoot without having the amp on our bench. Make sure power transistors are OK, and make sure they are properly isolated. If either power line has been interrupted, e.g. due to a bad contact, it is very likely that one or more power transistors have failed.
The LED only blinks on then off right as power is applied to the amplifier. It only does this once, I didn’t mean that it blinks continuously. I worded that poorly. So far everything that I have checked has been OK. I’ve checked and checked again all solder points and the orientation of all components.
