I have a question very similar to the post about the K4005, concerning attaching a volume pot. However, I am less sophisticated about terminology than that post, so I would appreciate an answer as complete/simple as possible with respect to connections of the pot.
I want to operate the amp in stereo mode and assume that I can alter the signal with a stereo taper pot. What I don’t know is where to place the pot. In reference to the schematic diagram, would I – for example – place the stereo pot to replace R1 and R2 resistors? Or, perhaps, I would alter the sensitivity and would replace the R7/R9/R11 and R8/R10/R12 resistors with a pot? Or, perhaps something else? One other question: what size (resistance and power) should the pot be? Many thanks.
It is very simple: put it between your source and the input of the amp, do not change the amp circuit. A 22k log pot is fine.
Thanks for the advice. Please bear in mind my novice knowledge of potentiometers. I assume that the following is the way to connect up the volume pot:
audio signal input between hot and cold terminals of pot; the wiper of the pot goes to amp input and the cold terminal of the pot also goes to ground.
For the stereo amp, I would use a dual gang log pot.
Do I have that right?
Yes, this is correct.
