The switching-on delay circuit in my K4000
amplifier does not work. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting? Thanks
Sorry, the K4000 is not equipped with a switch-on delay circuit.
Are you sure your amp is a K4000 and not a K4040 or did you mount an after-market switch-on delay in your K4000?
Did it work before or did it never work at all?
My amp is a K4000 and came with a switching-on delay circuit (shown as circuit board P4000SW1 in the manual). This circuit has worked perfectly since I built the amp but now does not work. This circuit provides a short delay before switching on the plate voltage.
The K4000 switch-on delay circuit has been obsolete since 1995, so we have no experience with this item.
Nevertheless, we managed to dig up a schematic diagram, which can be found here (please allow 1h for server update).
