I recently purchased the K3503 car amp kit. When I finished assembly, I attempted to hook it up and I can hear the relays clicking on and off, however, the right LED flashes 1 time and then goes out. The left LED never comes on. Any ideas on where I should start checking things? The manual is very vague on a few things. On page 21 of the manual it states IMPORTANT: solder a wire of min. 1.5mm in length along all the tinned leads of the pcb? Can you please explain this? What tinned leads? Where does the wire need soldered? Thanks!
It is very important that all copper tracks that are pre-tinned receive an extra thick layer of solder (or a wire soldered on top of them), as they handle large currents.
Do you think this would be causing the relays to click on and off with no power showing on the LEDs? I double-checked all the solder points and there are no solder bridges or cold solder joints.
Thank you very much for clarifying. I beleive that did the trick. I hooked the amp up and both LEDs came on and no fuses blew. I take that as a good sign that everything has been fitted properly? Also, I have 2 10 inch 100 watt subwoofers in a box. Would I need a crossover to make them work with this amp or does the amp already output low frequencies? Thanks again for your help!
