K2649 Thermostat Faulty IC!

K2649 Thermostat

I have built 2 of these, one works one does not.

Have looked in great detail at the one that does not work, and can not find any problems.

My friend who works For Nokia checked my build and says it is a conponent fault.

Have just changed the display IC from the one that works, to the one that does not work.

It now works!

I have a faulty IC.

How do I get a replacement IC?

(2 people in Nokia research spent approx 10 hours fault finding on this thermostat as a favour to me. This must have cost Nokia about £2000.00)

How cool is that.

Thanks

H-A

All spare parts (except programmed devices) can be ordered at your local Velleman dealer (this is a standard IC).

Semiconductors are factory tested and have a very very low fail rate. If they fail, it is usually caused by user error.
If you have a doubt, you can send in your kit for inspection/repair.
If our engineers find that the problem is caused by a manufacturing problem, then we will fix it for free. Otherwise, we ask a small fee (always less than the price of a kit).
