I would like to install an ignition kit on an old Triumph motorcycle, + to groud. I cant find a complement to the TIP162 darlingtontransistor. Was anyone able too modify this kit? Thanks for your help.
Does the Triumph has a (+) ground system? Although th ignition kit can be converted from 12v to 6v, I don’t think it’s convertible to a positive ground.

Yes, ground is +. On top, the ignition is with magneto. On an English site I found an electronic ignition with+ too ground and the specs mention not suitable for magneto. I expected problems for that side. My friend will have to ride with the standard ignition.
