K2543 Inition kit for Mc Cormick tractor with 6V battery

Hello,

I bought the kit to improve the ignition on the tractor with the 6 resistors ok for the 6V project.

I haven’t build the kit yet because I was wondering how I would handle the fact that the ground is positiv on the tractor (+ of the battery is linked to the carcass)

I was wondering if inverting all the zener and also the two transistors and respecting the mounting instruction on the tractor would be ok.

Can you tell me if I am right ?

Marc,

No, you need a totally different circuit. This circuit is NOT suited for positive ground.

Thanks for your quick answer,

I bought the wrong circuit I guess. It seems not adaptable.
Do you have any idea what kind of circuit I should use ?

Marc,

Hello,

I think I 've found a solution.

Inverting all the diodes and replacing the NPN transistors by PNP transistors (2N2219 by 2N2905A and TIP162 by a PNP power transistor, for instance MJ15025).

What do you think of it ?

Marc,

Did anyone get this to work on a positive ground system…or have a circuit like it that will work?

Thanks!
