Is it possible to use an ignition coil with lower resistance with the K2543?
My current ignition coil has a 1,5 ohm resistance, with a ballast resistor of 1,8 ohm.
If possible, I want to use an ignition coil of 0,4 ohm with a ballast resistor of 1 ohm.

Can I then remove the ballast resistor and just use the 1,5 ohm coil?

A few years ago I used it on a VW Beetle and also on an Innocenti DeTomaso both had original coils but later they were substituted by Bosch Red coil with resistor, based on that experience I would not expose the ignition coil without the resistor, it won’t work for long. But on the other hand new silicone cables and spark plugs are very welcome. The diference is remarkable especially because I’ve also changed to Lodge Golden spark plugs with 4 Poles.

But you can use the Red coil with the ballast resistor right?
The Red coil has 1,5 ohm resistance as well.
isn’t posible to mount an other type transistor, fot an type that can support more current??
