Just a quick update

So, i’ve been running with the new Mk3 Hotbed. Thanks to everyone who passed me knowledge. I ended up hacking up a computer powersupply I bought new for 10 bucks to power the bed. I’m thinking I could probably power the rest of the unit too, since there is an independent 2nd 12 v rail.

I’m also running Repetier-Host 1.04 right now. It’s working great. I had to hand enter all of the settings which wasn’t that hard to do… It still runs a little fast on the first layer, but I can change that later on.

As far as quality goes, I think it came out great.

BTW, you can override the print height in 1.0.4. I have mine set to .22 and the lines are perfect now.

Hi Docnasty,

Thanks for the update - that print looks great.

Are you still using Marlin V1?
What Z axis lead screw are you using?

Regards,

Wally

Hi Wally,

i’m using the stock screw with an updated connection on it for 3 bucks

Honestly, I don’t know what version of firmware is on there. It is whatever stock was from the company 8 months ago. we all know the software reports wrong when it shows up, and I think on 1.0.4 it doesn’t even give you that option. If there is a better way to check it, I certainly would like to know myself.
