Issue when printing small components

Hi all,

I’ve had another case of an issue, where surplus material is being placed. I only rarely see this and when I do, it’s on small components.

Here’s some pictures:

I am now printing with modified settings, but this occurred with the original settings too. Current settings are modified temperature (190°C) and modified retraction speed (100mm/s & distance (3mm).

Does anyone understand why this is happening & what I’d need to do to prevent this?

In this case, this is a 100% fill print - so I"ll probably can try to clean the print up with the Dremel…

Thanks for any insight you could provide.

Cheers,
Harry D.

Update: When adding more components to the print job - so that there’s more “cooldown” time for any single layer, the issue for the small components seem to be solved?

If that’s true, all I’d need to do to overcome this issue, would be to make sure I have a larger component in the same build. One would need to select a part that has some volume at the print’s highest point - to avoid the issue re-occuring on thát print. But that’s doable, I guess…

That said - should anyone have a tip on how to prevent it from occuring in the first place: I’d really appreciate your input.

Here’s 2 photo’s of today’s try:

The “cool head lift” function is supposed to prevent this kind of issue but you end up with a lot of stringing.

Printing 2 objects of the same size is still the best way to prevent the head staying too long on the same spot and melting it.

Good stuff, I’ll stick to that, then. Thanks.
