I have a problem with part 19 (assembling the hotend) of the building instruction of the k8200 3D printer. I’m using the instructions in PDF-format. By putting the NTC thermistor in the heater block, I encountered a problem: the thermistor doesn’t fit in the hole. Searching on the forum I found a post with the same problem (forum.velleman.be/viewtopic.php? … cd9#p51684).
Apparently the building instructions on the html-page are updated, buth the pdf isn’t.
Now I have the problem I cut both sleeves of the heater cartridge in two parts. The updated html-page however describes that only one sleeve must be cut.
How can I get a new sleeve (length of 5 cm )?
Sorry to read you experience troubles during the building of your kit.
Please drop us a line (support@velleman.be) and we’ll mail you some isolation sleeve.
I bought some glass isolation sleeve on ebay from China, and received it in less than one week. It came in an envelope that looked like a normal letter, and arrived air mail in the USA from China very fast.
I don’t know your location, but I got quick action from Velleman USA in Dallas Texas. They turned around my bad power supply in two weeks.
Velleman Belgium supports the entire product line, and they don’t care much about the printer. Good luck dealing with them.
You could have ordered the glass insulation on eBay for 99 cents USD from China and had it by now.
I ordered a lot of inexpensive spare parts (mostly from China) because The postings here convinced me that it is a bad idea to rely on Velleman for support.

I can’t find the updated instructions, so I’m stuck. Could someone please post a link to the updated assembly instructions? This is my second K8200 build, but the first one had a different hot end thermistor design.
