Hi
I am currently working on an RFID project and to prove concept I have elected to use the pre built VM179 125KHz RFID unit.
Ideally I would like to utilise a sillicon wrist band type EM4100 personnel tag but unfortunately because of the size of the atenna in the tag the range is reduced quite dramatically as the tags work on the ‘back scatter’ principal.
Is there an alternative antenna that could be fitted to the reader, to increase the emitted power and therefore the relative return signal of the tag?
Alternatively I would be quite happy to create my own antenna to do this if it is viable but would need some guidance if tuning is going to be critical.
Thanks
