Irregular line thickness

Hi,

I’m printing with my vertex for a few days now, and I see I get some irregular lines, the most in the first layers, sometimes it lays nothin and sometimes it does. Is that because he is extruding bad material out? I have it the most on the first 3-4 layers, then everything goes fine…

What could that be?

Also, wich I’m unsure of, is that my first print went very well, but my second was totally messed up, it looked like the nozzle was touching the part. So I lowered the bed, and everything was fine again. How could that be possible? The first was fine but the second it doesn’t work…

Hi,

A picture of your issue could help solving your problem as many things can be causing it (temperature, layer height, bed flatness etc).

I think you can see clearly that the first layer is layed very badly, like it won’t stik, but it does. It just are no clean lines…

Is it possible you are too far from the bed?

Looks better now, placed it closer

Tried again, but it is the same again, bed is close enough now normally :frowning:

The distance between nozzle and bed shouldn’t be bigger than 0.2 mm. Otherwise the filament doesn’t stick, it’s just laid down on the bed giving the result you got.

Gonna buy myself a feeler gauge

Also, a quick question. When I move my rods by hand, or by glove lol, I can feel that in certain places I feel more resistance then other places. So I checked the pulleys, and I can see they are not laying fully aligned on the rods. Them wiggle a little, how could I fix it? It are not the rods that wiggle!

What exactly does this mean ? Are you saying the pulleys have to big holes or what ?
In what way are they not aligned ?

Indeed. And because you thighten it on only one side. They are not fully aligned on the rod
And because you thighten it on only one side. They are not fully aligned on the rod
Strange. I didn’t notice such a thing with mine. Anyway it won’t interfere with the first layer height. You can attend to this problem later if you notice some quality issue with your prints. BTW do you have pulleys with one or to screws?

I have them with 2. Do I have to put 2 screws in? I thought only 1
Do I have to put 2 screws in?
Of course you do! First batch of kits came with pulleys with only one screw that could come loose very easily. The manual hasn’t been updated yet, still showing the model with one screw.

OWWWW ok ! Thanks!!
