IP problem

Hello, I have a VM204 module. At the firts I had comunication with the device because it obtained an IP by DCHP.

I tried change the IP but it losed the power supply while the new configuration was saving.

Now, I can´t comunicate with the device. The application don´t find the device.

I need your help. What can I do?

Thank you.

Try a factory reset.
After powering the card short the factory reset pins.

There was also a bug in the firmware when using a static IP. Please update the firmware you can find the firmware V1.1 here:

Hello. Thank you for your response.

I tried a factory reset yesterday but the problem persist.

I can´t update the firmware because I don´t know what is the IP of the device. I have tried with the last IP and the new IP but it is not possible to connect with the device.

Is there any factory IP to try connecting with the device?

Is possible to upload the firmware throught the USB input?

Thank you

You’ll have to check in your router or do a ping test when the card is in bootloader mode.

If you have experience with programming PIC microcontrollers I can give you the firmware.
The new production firmware has the new bootloader which have the discovery feature implemented.

Ok, I think that I can do it.

Thank you.

Hello,
How can I upload the firmware to the device?
I can´t do it with “VM204 Firmware Application” because the device don´t have IP address.
Please, can you say me another way to uploap the new firmware?
Thank you.

I´m trying upload the firmware with a specific software for that but I can´t connect with the device bucause my PC don´t detect the new device connected by USB.

Is necessary to do something in the device to change a bootloader mode?

How I can do to detect the device by USB port?

Thank you

The USB port is only for power no data.
You’ll have to use a pickit3 (programmer tool) or ICD3 to program the board with HEX file i’ve given you.

OK. I´m going to buy a pickit3 programmer tool and I´ll try program the device.

Thank you for your help.

Hello again!.

I got succesfully uploap the firmware with a pickit3 programmer tool. I can connect with the device but when it require me the login and the password is not posible to enter because that is different of the documentation password.

I put: Login: admin Password: VM204 but the device say me that this password is wrong.

Is possible that the password was different in the new firmware?

Thank you

It should be VM204.
If that doesn’t work. Try to do a factory reset.

Hello again, I have done a factory reset but the problem persist.

Can I use another user or another password?

Thank you

Make sure the you make decent contact between the pins.
It should be
user: admin
pw: VM204

Hello @SERV

There was also a bug in the firmware when using a static IP. Please update the firmware you can find the firmware V1.1 here:

You can also flash the HEX file in PIC via PICKIT3.
