Instrument getting hot when charging

I just bought a HPS140. After charging overnight through the USB charger the instrument (battery?) gets hot. Shouldn’t the charger logic reduce the current when the battery is fully charged? The led does not switch off either.

It is normal that the led never turns off, it simply indicates that the unit is connected to the charger and that the charger is powered.
It is also normal that the temperature raises when the battery is charged. ‘Hot’ is subjective. Can you supply an exact figure, this will allow us to determine if the heating is normal or not. Should not be more than 50°C.

Ok, thanks for the answer. It’s not warmer than 50 degrees celsius.
Should I limit the charging time to max 7 hours?

Normally, this is not necessary, but of course it is always better to disconnect the unit after charging.

Ok, thanks. Maybe you can incorporate a somewhat smarter charger in the next version where it shuts off charging and led when done.
