HPS-140 Design flaw?

I didn’t find a complaint or suggestion thread, so…

My HPS-140 portable handheld scope has a lovely nameplate on its back. Fortunately for me, I noticed it when I bought it, and immediately covered it with strong tape.

Some people use a battery powered handheld scope for size and weight considerations – it’s a great tool for traveling to do service.

Some people use a battery powered handheld scope for isolation – to ‘float’ the scope and look at small signals riding on high voltages. That’s my use. And in my world, it’s normal to put test equipment down inside a machine, including on live busbars. And bad things can happen when a piece of battery powered test equipment that looks as though it’s contained in a resilient, insulating case gets laid down in such an environment. Like when a person who is unfamiliar with the device borrows it…

It’s a well made plate. Something non-metallic might be better.

Thanks for feedback! :slightly_smiling_face:
