How to work with Arduino Mega and RGB Shield

Hi,

I have an Arduino Mega. I bought your shield. Unfortunately the sample code only activates the LEDs on the shield, but not on an LED Strip. I use power supply from Arduino. How can I test, what it wrong? I connected the 12 V + with the + of Red and all colors to -. I guess this is how it is intended?

Are you sure the led strip is a common anode led strip?
