Excuse me I am still learning. Attached is a picture of a spectrum analysis of an AM signal on the Pcgu250. I have troubles reading the scales. Do you I start reading the scales from the top or the bottom? Is there documentation to help me understand the scales and reading the amplitude.
Okay it seems I can’t attach the picture. But some direction to some documentation will be awesome.
Please help me with this thing. I am really struggling. Been googling my behind off. How do I read the amplitudes? How do I convert to power (dB or dB) while using the pcgu250?
How do I read the amplitudes?
You can use markers to check the absolute amplitude or relative amplitude of the frequency components.
Markers in spectrum analyzer mode:
· Marker function for absolute and relative voltage measurement is provided.
· The absolute voltage level in dBV or the voltage difference in decibels (dB) can be measured.
You can use the markers “f & V” to measure the magnitude in dBV.
Just move the marker at the top of the frequency component of interest.
On the bottom left corner of the screen you’ll see the amplitude in dBV.
Example:
For relative voltage measurement, to check the difference in dB between two frequency components, you can use the markers “f & dV”.
