Hi,
I purchased three of the 8-Channel Relay Cards K8056, which afford a COM port each at the computer. Is this inevitable or is there a chance to multiplex those three cards on the computer’s side?
I’m using an old HP Vectra VL for a nostalgic project. So I could multiply COM ports with still enough CPU power due to the Pentium III inside. But I don’t have an adequate program and don’t know who could help with that.
Is there still the programmer of the downloadable software available at velleman or any other idea, how I can control the full amount of 24 outputs with a single program?
So my 3 K8056 boards finally work at the RS232 COM ports of my PC, which has four COM ports meanwhile.
One issue is still open:
I don’t get the downloadable VB program adapted to be able to select COM port 3 and 4. It’s not simple as that to copy and paste the section in the vbp file, where COM 1 and COM 2 can be selected.
For some reason the program doesn’t accept the retry command more than once. Is there someone to help with a modified exe, which allows to select COM ports 1 through 4?
Hi,
In the past I also used VB; but now I use free “python(x,y)”
It is very easy to use (like BASIC) and can also be downloaded from parac.eu also
I control the K8056 board with that.
You can open multiple com ports and control them with only one script.
Because I only have one board, I can not test multiplexing, but I think it can work also with one script.
I you want to know more please let me know.
