How To Configure Led Start Light Gantry?

i purchased a k8055 pre built from maplin to enable a start light gantry to be run along side a slot car track(scalextric).

I have the software running on a laptop and the start light sequence can be seen running on the digital outputs(the on board led’s light up.

I also have a 5v 1amp psu and would like to know how to power the gantry up ie a wiring diagram and parts needed.I have the gantry made and tested via parallel port but as i need more grunt opted to run this board as the software is already within the program.

So far i have connected the off board psu to clamp and ground but the lights just light up and are not controlled by the board or software.

I will be running 7 of the 8 available channels.Thats five reds one green and one yellow.

Also with a 5v psu what would be the maximum amps that could be drawn safely.??

Usually, when you do not get a response, it simply means that your post is not clear, too vague, too complex or simply impossible.
Do not expect off-the-shelf solutions. People are willing to help, but they need correct input.
Maybe you should divide your project into different steps and ask help with each step.
