I use the PCGU1000 in combination with the PCSU1000 under Windows 7. I wrote software to control the PCGU1000 via FGUlink.dll. In the manual of the FGUlink is written: “Note: In the FGen1000.ini there is a parameter ShowGen=1. Change it to ShowGen=0 and the generator GUI will be always hidden.” I seems to work this way but only after 0.5 sec. In this 0.5 sec after the opengen command I see the GUI of the PC"S"U1000 flashing on screen for fraction of a second and than disappearing again. It really weird because I am working with the PC"G"U1000 instead. I intend to use my software in combination with the PCGU1000 for commercial use so this flashing GUI is very annoying for me. Could you help me out how to prevent any GUI to appear when running my own software?
Indeed, the PCSU1000 GUI flashes on the screen.
Now the FGU.EXE is slightly modified. The PCSU1000 GUI is minimized during the startup.
Here the link to download the updated version: box.net/shared/8sc5khdudu
You may test the operation of the updated FGU.EXE by the FGULink_demo.exe.
Click the “Turn On Generator” to start the PCGU1000.
Use the “Hide Generator” check box to hide / show the generator GUI.
If hidden when “Close Generator” button is pressed the ShowGen=0 will be set in the FGen1000.ini and the generator GUI is hidden in next session too.
Thanks for your response. I used the new fgu.exe indeed it stays invisible but now it creates a new task on the taskbar. That makes it even more annoying, because when the user clicks on that new task the GUI of the scope becomes visible again. Can you correct this? The prior version of FGU.exe didn’t create an extra task in the taskbar. Why is the scope GUI involved when I use only the generator?
