Heating bed Thermistor

My NTC broke while soldering… I ordered new ones, but in the meantime I wonder if I could replace it with the tiny one I used for the extruder? (it came twice)

Hi Trier,

you can use the wired thermistor as a replacement, but you have to make sure that

  • the glass bead has good contact to the heated bed (or it won’t sense the correct temperature), and at the same time that
  • there is absolutely no chance of short-circuiting anything due to the wires - not between two of the heater circuits, not between the thermistor contacts themselves, not between any of those and the alu bed, or any other combination.

Cross-check the resistances before plugging THERM2 and HEATER2 in, the thermistor should have around 100 kΩ at room temperature, the bed between 5 and 7 Ω, all others open connection / high MΩ range or more.

Cheers,

I replaced the Thermoresitstor with the extra one from the Nozzle and it worked out perfectly
Big thanks to the Team!
